What to Do If You’ve Enrolled But Not Received an Invoice

If you have enrolled in a Covered California health plan with an effective date for February 1, 2014, your first premium payment was due on  January 28.  However, according to California Healthline, Health Net and Blue Shield have extended the payment deadline until January 31, and Kaiser has extended its deadline to February 18.  Sources tell us that Kaiser is four weeks behind in processing new applications which may justify the extra extension.

If you have a February 1st effective and have not received your first month’s premium payment, Covered California has a provided the contact information and instructions for each carrier on what you should do on their website.  Most carriers need your Social Security number to find your application in the system.  If the health plan can still not find you in their system, one reason could be is that your social security number was input incorrect into the system.  You will want to check with Covered California by calling 800-300-1505 to verify the social security number they have on file for you.
